In 1974, Island Records was compiling a best of LP of the Meters' Josie material (which came out under the name "Cissy Strut") and as part of that effort the compiler had several of their heaviest tunes cut to 7" as test presses to gauge dancefloor reaction. This is 1 of 5 copies that exist. Appears to be the original white sleeve with date stamp. The person I bought it off 10+ years ago said they came from a record label executive he knew.
Sound is a bit lo-fi (maybe that’s why it didn’t get picked?!) .. but nonetheless the only original way to get Cardova on a 7”. Check the clip.
Test tone on the flip. Thanks for looking.
